Server Virtualization is a new technology that enables server consolidation by creating virtual server(s) that run on a single host machine.
Two virtualizaion platforms exist within the Microsoft family of products.
- Virtual Server 2007 is the server virtualization technology engineered for the Windows 2003 (X86) Server platform.
- Microsoft Hyper-V Server 2008 provides a simplified, reliable, and optimized virtualization solution, enabling improved server utilization and reduced costs on Windows (X64 hardware dependant) systems.
This WEB server is running on Virtual Server 2005.
