Paterson's Eagle Soft Printer Settings within a Terminal Server Session
Once your Remote Desktop Client has been configured to make local printers available in a Terminal Server Session, you can print to your local printer. Click here for instructions on how to configure the Remote Desktop Client to use a locally attached printer.

Eaglesoft does not handle Terminal Server RDP printers well. Printing does work, but you need to pay attention to which printer Eaglesoft selects each time you log-on to a Terminal Server Session.
I have created screen shots of the Eaglesoft print dialog box, pointing out the mistake Eaglesoft makes in Remote Desktop printer selection.
Here is what my home PC printer list looks like before connecting to the Terminal Server:
(Your default printer is identified by a small check mark left of it's name.)
The screen shot above shows my HP Deskjet 1120c is my default printer.
Now I will start a Terminal Server Session, open control panel on the terminal server session, and display the available printers.
The screen shot above shows that my local hp 1120c printer has been added to the list of printers on the Terminal Server and has been automatically selected as the default printer.
(The check mark left of the HP DeskJet 1120c printer means it is the default printer.)
Now I will open Microsft Word, type some text, and then open Word's Print Menu to show how Word automatically defaults to my local printer.
The next screen shows the Microsft Word Print Dialog Box.
Now I can print the current document back on my local printer; or I can select any other printer in the above list.
Now I will display the Paterson Eaglesoft printer setup screen to show how Eaglesoft makes an incorrect printer selection that must be changed before you attempt to print either locally or at the Terminal Server.
From the Eagelsoft desktop, select File, Printer Administration > Practice Management to open the printer setup screen shown below.
At first things look OK, but wait, Eaglesoft has selected the wrong printer from my local workstation. So, as displayed in the next screen-shot, I will click the down-arrow next to each (and every) report I want to print, and select the correct printer.
The above screen-shot shows the "Letter:" printer being changed to the HP Deskjet 1120C (from ANGELOXP) in session 3 .
One additional printer setup note:
Look again at the above screen-shot; see the HP Deskjet on LPT1: printer in the list? That generic printer driver can be used if your local printer is not supported in a Terminal Server session; but, before you can use it, you need to install the driver on your local computer, telling windows it is connected to your local LPT1: port, and after the installation is completed go back and change the printers port from LPT1: to the port your real printer actually uses. Jobs will print, however, some special features my not work.
