How to Configure your SDLT 320 Drive to Stream Data and prevent the shoe-shinning backup effect.
My system specs:
Server, Dell Dimension 8400, Integrated Hardware Raid Controller manages Hard Drives.
OS Windows 2003 Server, Enterprise Edition.
2GB Ram, Arcserve 2000 V 11.1
HP/Compaq SDLT 320 drive Tape Drive
Drive Attached to : Adaptec AHA-2940U2B – Ultra2 SCSI Card
Hard Drives are on the integrated Raid Controller.
According to CA Support:

Tape Drives should be Disabled in Device Manager.

Multiplexing should be checked in the Backup Job.
-
Tape Drive Hardware compression is ON
-
Removable Storage Service should be Disabled
